PEQUEREL
The hamlet of Pequerel, part of the municipality of Usseaux, is an authentic alpine gem surrounded by nature. The village sits at an altitude of about 1,700–1,800 m and still preserves intact traces of ancient mountain huts, pastures, and the typical rural architecture of the area.
A distinctive feature is an impressive stone avalanche protection wall, dating back to the 19th century, built to defend the village from snow and landslides—a testament to the centuries-old coexistence between the community and the mountain environment.
Pequerel is perfect for those who love mountain silence, walks in the woods, and views of the Cottian Alps: an ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle, breathe fresh air, and discover the quiet of alpine villages.
